You can't really miss Bank Park in the centre of Warrington (or certainly not in the direction we drive to Warrington Bank Quay!)
There are younger and older play areas within the park and additionally a small adult gym area directly adjoining them. The one thing you notice at Bank Park is the branding - it is in the Warrington Wolves colours of yellow and blue, with rugby themed pictures on the floor. It makes a nice change from the ducks and animals on the floor in other parks.
The main play area of interest to Little Park Explorer has a good size climbing frame with
a slide and climbing areas. There are the standard toys that you would expect with some swings (as usual for this time, half the swings have been removed), a roundabout, bouncy ride-ons. In addition there's a balancing trail with a rope line and some balancing footprints.
The area of the park intending for older children has a zip line, a net swing, and a much bigger climbing frame. The interesting thing about the climbing frame is that it doesn't have a slide, but it has two parallel metal poles making the shape of the slide. You are supposed to hook your arms and legs over them and slide down - I hadn't seen one before. I ended up at the top of the climbing frame (to better play cafes) and it looked terrifying to try and slide down.
Parking: There is a bit of on road parking around, and a CCP on the corner. We visited on a Sunday so parked in Golden Square Legh Street for the free parking. It's about a 5 minute walk from there to the park behind the Town Hall.
Toilets: There didn't seem to be toilets when we visited, but there may be some at the pavilion. There are toilets in Golden Square
Cafe: There didn't seem to be a cafe when we visited, but there may be one at the pavilion during normal times. There are a wide range of cafes and restaurants a short walk away in Warrington
